How to Perform Wudu

Purification is the key to prayer. Follow these steps to correctly perform the ritual ablution (Wudu) as taught by the Prophet (peace be upon him).

Niyyah (Intention)

Make the intention in your heart to perform Wudu for the sake of Allah. It is recommended to say "Bismillah" (In the name of Allah) before starting.

Wash Hands

Wash both hands up to the wrists three times, ensuring water reaches between the fingers.

Rinse Mouth

Rinse your mouth three times, using your right hand to bring water to your mouth.

Clean Nose

Sniff water into your nose three times and blow it out using your left hand.

Wash Face

Wash your entire face three times, from the hairline to the chin and from ear to ear.

Wash Arms

Wash your right arm up to and including the elbow three times, then do the same for the left arm.

Wipe Head (Masah)

Wipe your head once with wet hands, from the front to the back and back to the front.

Wipe Ears

Wipe the inside of your ears with your index fingers and the back with your thumbs once.

Wash Feet

Wash your right foot up to and including the ankle three times, ensuring water reaches between the toes. Repeat for the left foot.
